The Big Meeting Became True for Mor Çatı

Mor Çatı received a big meeting in its 20th years. Lots of people, have sensitivity about prevention of violence against women and child, came together for bring a new shelter for Mor Çatı. Friends of Mor Çatı, artists’ costumes and painting got attention at the auction that happened in Otto. In this auction, approximately 100 thousand Liras gains were obtained.

Mor Çatı received a big meeting in its 20th years. Lots of people, have sensitivity about prevention of violence against women and child, came together for bring a new shelter for Mor Çatı. Friends of Mor Çatı, artists’ costumes and painting got attention at the auction that happened in Otto. In this auction, approximately 100 thousand Liras gains were obtained.

T-shirts, that are designed by volunteer of Mor Çatı Deniz Marşan’s coordinator and Elif Cılızoğlu, Jale Hürdoğan, Zeynep Tosun, Zeynep Erdoğan, Özgür Mansur, Ayşe Deniz Yeğin, Gamze Saraçoğlu ve Mehtap Elaidi because of Mor Çatı’s 20th anniversary , are sold. As you know that Aylin Aslım, Azra Akın, Beren Saat, Banu Güven, Ebru Akel, Rojin, Sedef Avcı, Sebnem İşigüzel posed to camera for supporting sales of t-shirts.

What did Mor Çatı do in 20 years?

Mor Çatı Women’s Shelter Foundation have given legal, social and psychological supports to women and children who exposed to violence continuously, since 1990. Mor Çatı conducted an activity in 3 separate shelters with international standards. Rate of setting up new life which is far from violence for women and children live in 3 shelters, is %80.

What is the violence against women?

Violence against women impends on right to life firstly. We know that every three of one women expose to violence.In Turkey every day five women are killed by husband, ex husband or boyfriend. 

According to law, if population is 50 thousand in a town, they should open a shelter for women and children who want to move away from violence. But due to deficient shelters rate of women, have to go back to violence, is approximating to 86 %.
